this past weekend my girlfriend and i packed up our kids + some food and hit the road!
first stop was lake Quinault and the worlds largest spruce tree.
after a snack and some journaling we were off to Kalaloch
we allowed each of the kids to find one treasure for their treasure boxes.
next we stopped in Forks for our picnic lunch,
and of course we couldn't escape it,
Twilight was everywhere we looked!
once out of Forks we took the cut off for cape flattery,
one of the most beautiful drives i have ever been on.
the straight of juan de fuca was picturesque!
i couldn't resist and pulled over,
i couldn't resist and pulled over,
after snapping the pic i noticed the bald eagle sitting out on the rocks,
i just love seeing wildlife in the wild!
off again, almost there...
i have never been car sick but even this road made my stomach churn,
luckily even the few in the car that do get sick didn't!
finally we made it!
there were a lot of people there, license plates from all over the country.
time to hike...
the kids loved the boardwalk and tree stump stepping stones
wouldn't this make the perfect tree house tree?!
and we made it...
by far the most majestic and spiritual place i have ever been.
you could almost feel the history,
it was amazing.
if ever you are in Washington i highly recommend making the trek,
you will not regret it.
