handmade Christmas - wish necklace

shortly after finding pinterest,

and all the wonderful ideas that lie within,

i had the idea to have a handmade Christmas.

you see ever since i became a mom i have grown to hate Christmas;

at least the commercial, max out your credit card to make it memorable part.

i mean 90% of the presents get broken or wind up in a yard sale 6 months later anyway!

this year i have other ideas for making memories,

beginning with the presents.

though i know what all i will be making i have yet to start or complete a single present

and with Christmas only a little over two months away

i went into this weekend knowing i needed to accomplish something!

well, after my hormones and depression got the best of me, again

i only had a few hours left Sunday evening, but i did it.

i now have at least one present for each of my girls,

a wish necklace....

my girls love anything to do with fairies

so of course Tinker Bell is one of their favorite movies.

at the beginning of the first movie Tinker Bell is born,

from a dandelion seed and a baby's first laugh.

since seeing this the girls started to collect dandelion seeds calling them baby fairies.

i took a few of them and put them in a little vile.

(after a little trial and error i found that putting them fuzzy side first worked best)

i added a wish charm and tiny jingle bell...

a few minutes later and ta-da!

though i doubt all the gifts i plan to make will be go this smooth

i have no intention of backing out of this.

i will see my handmade Christmas through, one way or another...

  1. I can't wait to make one for my girl. Homemade Christmas is the best way to teach kids it is not about the cost of gifts, but rather it is about the love that is put into them.
